FALL 2009 SEASON WRAP-UP
Season 10 is in the books and a fine season it was. Overall attendance was down a little as 37 drivers ran a race this season with 16 competing at least 10 times and 5 racers(Matt, Roy, Tom, Jerry and Pops) running all 20 events. We ran 2144 laps all together with 338 drivers which works out to 16.6 drivers a race. We had 75 cautions for 316 laps or a little over 3 a race for just under 16 laps. We ran 14 races(compared to just 6 last year) with 4 or less cautions along with 9 races at 2 or less cautions and 4 cautions free. That is something that will be hard to duplicate next season but we will try. I'd like to congradulate Toby Margison for his first win in the series at IRP_pwf in week 4 and Der Merkley for his first two wins at Vegas and I70 speedway in weeks 13 and 14. Congrats guys. Now on to this years top 3 which just happens to be the same as last years top 3. First up is Matt Watkins. Matt had 6 wins, 14 top 5's and 17 top 10's en-route to his second consecutive championship. Matt also had 4 poles and one dnf at IRP(maybe thats how Toby won) on his way to the second highest point total in the history of sport truck racing. He has also climbed up to second all-time in wins in the series. Great season Matt. Next is Roy Cutshaw. Roy completed all but two laps this season on his way to his second consecutive runner up finish, He had 9 top 5's and an amazing 20 top 10's this season with an average finish of 5.80. Roy ended up more that 500 points behing Matt last season and cut that to 206 this season and is looking to move up the ladder one more spot. Keep up the good work Roy. Third in points this season for the second consecutive season goes to "Slim" Jim Gately. Jim amassed 4 wins this season to move up to 5th all time in wins along with 10 top 5's and 14 top 10's out of the 17 races that he ran. He also had 8 poles and incredibly led the most laps in a race 12 times this season. He had an average finish of 5.53. Nice season Slim. Next I'd like to congradulate Full Throttle Racing on their second consecutive team Championship. Way to go guys. I would like to also thank Full Throttle for sponsoring this years season. Now I would like to thank all the racers for coming out each sunday morning to race and making it such an easy series to admin. I am looking forward to season 11 which will start on January 3rd at Talladega. See you then.

SERIES BACKGROUND
If you are looking for a very clean, entry level truck series, then look no further. This Sportsman Truck Series has it all. Every Sunday morning before any NASCAR races on TV, FSB drivers can get after it on the exact same tracks as the Pro Truck Series. This series schedule mirrors the Pro Trucks each week and was designed to be practice sessions for the Pro Trucks.
Years later, it has developed into a great series of it's own. Long green flag runs are common even on the shorter tracks the trucks run. Both of our truck series copy the real Craftsman Truck Series schedule as best we can. See a truck race on TV over the weekend? Race the same track Sunday. Pretty simple.
This series began years ago on Thursday nights. It instantly became a huge success. When the Pro Trucks moved to Thursdays, this series moved to the weekends and never fell off. First is was "Demon," then William Wallace took the reigns as the admin. Now, Pat Cross has the duty and does a kick ass job each Sunday morning. With 6 full seasons and over 110 events in the books, this series is one of the best here at fsb racing.
Start your Sunday off with Sportsman Trucks.... JR 1/4/08
